Spring's Fling c. 2013


Spring's Fling is a frilly jacket which is sure to please your little girl. It is knit from the top-down and includes puffed sleeves at the shoulders and gathers at the sleeve ribbing. The yoke is created using a modified version of the contiguous sleeve method. The button bands are picked up after the body of the jacket has been completed.

There is approximately 2 inches (5 cm) of positive ease worked into the chest circumference. To determine the correct size, first measure chest circumference and compare this with the Sizes and Chest Measurement as stated in the pattern. Then determine how tight or loose you would like "Spring's Fling" to fit.


20 stitches x 26 rows = 4” (10 cm) in stockinette stitch on size US 7 (4.5 mm) needles (or size needed to get gauge), measured on a washed and blocked swatch.




US Size 7 (4.5 mm) circular needle (or size needed to achieve gauge) for body, and US Size 6 (4.0 mm) needle for ribbing;

Shepherd Worsted by Lorna's Laces - Approximately, 2 (2, 2, 2, 2)(3, 3, 3, 3) skeins at 225 yards per skein; total of approximately 550 to 775 yards depending on size.


Stitch Markers in several different colors
Buttons, 1.5" in diameter; number depends on size and length knit.
